As a man writing about my own experiences and ideas, I believe it is necessary to give a brief background of who I am. To start, I will say this: I am not a great man. I am not the richest man. I am not the kindest man. I am not the bravest man. I am not the strongest man. I am not the wisest man. All of these titles I do not hold, nor do I want to. I merely want to be one step closer to them every day. Before considering my ideas and advice, understand I am not a famous actor, athlete, billionaire, not even a famous writer. I am simply a normal man, making a normal salary, at a fairly normal job, without any extraordinary qualities. I do not intend to be the best. I just intend to be better every day, and if I stay true to this mission, I may just become the best.
So who am I really? Well, as ironic as it may sound I would probably be considered pretty unimpressive. I am 22 years old, which many people would not even consider to be a real man yet. I am a college dropout, something many people look down on, despite me being happy with the decision. I am a manager at a retail store; a career that many would view as a borderline dead-end job. It’s safe to say that there are a lot of people in this world that would look down on my life with a feeling of superiority and pity about the life that I live. The truth is, the knowledge that those people exist is what drives me every day. There’s no better feeling than proving people wrong. I love my life not because of who I am, but because of who I know I will become.
